FNO’s Piperlime Pop-Up Shop

One of the highlights of Fashion Week and Fashion Night Out is shopping in person at an online retailer!

I couldn’t resist hitting the Piperlime store early Friday before the official start of FNO – expected evening appearances by Rachel Zoe and the cast of Project Runway so knew it would be crazy crowded.

The selections were well edited and grouped by theme. In addition, they are featuring a daily styling contest. Anyone interested can put a look together on a mannequin. A winner is chosen daily and in addition to their look being featured in the store, they win a $100 gift certificate.

The shop was filled with creative cardigans, faux fur vest, military jackets and feminine blouses mixed with the bold booties and boots Piperlime is known for.  Honestly, the best surprise of the visit was the prices. Nothing I fell for was more than $100!

Must-Haves:

If you can’t make it to NYC, I have included the online links here:

Hive + Honey studded metal stretch bracelet, $30

Kensie Tweeded Knit Cardigan,  $88

Insider Tip:

If they don’t have your size in stock, ask for a free overnight shipping coupon to order your size online.

In case you missed FNO, the shop will be open for 25 days so head downtown and check it out.

Realm – A pleasant surprise

I really wasn’t expecting a full-on surprise at FNO, but happened upon a new boutique’s first night – and what a night! A DJ, pink Champagne and delectable desserts (my favorite was the peanut butter macaroon). The newest addition to Soho’s fashion front is french inspired Realm, (98 Greene Street). It houses a well-edited selection of luxury designer favorites paired with eclectic jewelry. My favorite was a black popcorn knit Theirry Mugler bomber jacket. Bonne Chance!

Mmmmm – Michael Kors! More scene, more Champagne! A shopping frenzy! Lots of lovely ladies and some super stylish young men as well. Some super sale merch mixed with new fall fashion finds. Of all of the stops during FNO, MK definitely had the best selection of this season’s hottest piece, the fur vest. From faux to fox, they had it all. Customers were trying things on and buying, buying, buying.

Thank goodness at my next stop the lovely boys at Burberry were offering up Champagne. I must add that the hors d’oeuvres were delicious too. I am infatuated with shearling lined boots this season and the Chanel stiletto heeled version caught my eye. My gal pal for the night got her shop on by trying out the fiercely gorgeous matte black studded sandals. I must confess that I caved in and appeased my shopping desires with an faded olive plaid scarf purchase before I moved on. Very versatile, it will coordinate with everything olive, khaki, grey and black in the colder months ahead.

One of my main goals was to hit Chanel on FNO to check out the new nail polish collections. My manicurist told me that three people had already brought the new shades in earlier in the day. By the time I arrived around 6:15pm, the line was insanely long. The closest I got was the window…luckily I had a friend inside who snagged me a bottle of Steel from the new Soho Collection, so all was not lost. The other coveted color, Strong, was already sold out! Also hot is the new Les Khakis des Chanel designed specifically for FNO!

The newly named and revamped Lacoste

Live store on Prince Street is now a men’s only boutique featuring lean clean cuts and edgy takes on their traditional polos. Look for enlarged crocodiles and multicolored stripes and trim. Cute, but you’d better be fit as this slim silhouette isn’t for everyone.
