Jason SilvaAssistant Account Executive
Where and when did your PR career begin?
Right here at CGPR. From September of 2014 through May of 2015, while earning my MBA, I was an intern. I learned so much about the industry, our clientele, and CGPR’s unique approach to PR. I fell in love with it. I worked on various accounts, executing a range of media relations initiatives. I stepped away for about a year, into a business development/marketing role, where I continued to develop effective branding skills. These abilities translate well into my current role at CGPR as we strive to build client brands amongst mainstream media.
What was your first job and how did you get it?
My first real job was at Schutt Sports, the world’s largest manufacturer of protective athletic equipment, which fit right in with my love for sports. I handled sales and marketing in the greater Boston area, educating and selling alongside an extensive dealer network to area youth programs, high schools, and colleges. I wore Schutt football equipment my entire life, so there was a natural connection.
Where is your dream travel location and why?
Iceland. It seems like a remarkable and peaceful place. I would love to have a chance to explore the countryside and tackle a few of the many popular and not-so-popular hikes.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring 3 things what would they be?
- My acoustic guitar so I could jam until I needed to break it down for firewood.
- Sunblock because that’s what my mother would want.
- A boat so I could leave!
