Where and when did your PR career begin?
My first experience in the world of PR was in college with a yearlong internship with KSV, a PR and ad agency based in Burlington Vermont. I worked with regional ski resorts like Stowe Mountain and Sugarbush, as well as national consumer brands like Acorn Shoes. After school, and a move across the country, I worked with HORN, a technology firm in San Francisco working with exciting startups and established enterprise technology companies.
What was your first job and how did you get it?
My very first job was with a local coffee shop in my hometown. As a coffee lover and a morning person the job was a great fit for my high school self. The lessons in customer service and performing under pressure (people do not like to wait in line for their morning caffeine) stay with me today.
Where is your dream travel location and why?
My mother is a travel lover, so I’ve been fortunate to explore some amazing places. I also had the opportunity to live in Spain for 8 months in college which allowed me to explore some incredible cities in Europe. Patagonia is currently at the top of my travel wish list. After exploring Peru last year, I am eager to get back to South America and with the national park, Parque Patagonia, recently completed, I think Chile will have to be my next adventure.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring 3 things, what would they be?
- My family: any place is better with those you love
- A lifetime supply of matches: I don’t trust my wilderness skills to start a fire
- A deck of cards: for entertainment when lounging on the beach gets old
