Where and when did your PR career begin?
My first formal foray into the world of PR began in 2018 when I joined a boutique agency in Manhattan called Small Girls PR. I worked on a variety of consumer and technology clients, ranging from fashion giants to travel startups to local cultural festivals. My favorite moment from my time there was coordinating an interview between The New York Timesand the President of Iceland. You never know what your day might look like in PR and sometimes you just end up navigating the world of Secret Service!
What was your first job and how did you get it?
I had quite a few part time jobs in high school and college with roles ranging from a high school fencing coach to a technical support specialist. However, my first full time internship was with the Rhode Island International Film Festival, which I joined as a fellow of Brandeis’ Experiential Learning department. As a Sponsorship and Development Associate, I frequently cold-called and met with local vendors and potential commercial partners for this Oscar-qualifying festival. It was a great first lesson in pitching and an amazing way for me to present to clients at a young age. I continue to be involved in the festival to this day as a member of their Advisory Board.
Where is your dream travel location and why?
Ireland! I have never been there, but I adore my Irish culture. I frequently listen to Celtic music to focus and hope to get back into the practice of Irish stepdance soon!
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring 3 things what would they be?
