When and where did your PR career begin?
Here at CGPR! I was finishing my degree in marketing communications when a friend of mine suggested I look into CGPR’s internship program. As an avid hiker and climber, it was exciting to work with brands I admired in an environment that nurtured my curiosity and passion for PR. Before I knew it my 3 month contract turned into almost 12 months. My responsibilities grew and I attended trade shows like Outdoor Retailer on behalf of the agency. After leaving CGPR, I went on to work as an Account Coordinator at an agency in Boston, Massachusetts. It was there I put my skills to the test and worked with an array of consumer-facing clients.
What was your first job and how did you get it?
I can’t remember my first job, but my most interesting job was working on a construction crew in college. When visiting home on breaks, I worked for a local contractor doing demolition and small remodeling jobs. Looking back, it was one of the best experiences before transitioning to professional life. It taught me how to work with a team and be confident in my abilities.
Where is your dream travel location and why?
Yosemite National Park! It’s the epicenter of the rock climbing universe and a place I have wanted to visit since I started climbing 5 years ago.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring 3 things, what would they be?
- My climbing gear (there must be a good boulder on an island right?)
- My boyfriend Joe – he’s not totally survival savvy but together I think we’d stand a chance.
- A LifeStraw? Gotta stay hydrated.
